Pokémon Emerald to feature in UKSM marathon in support of Special Effect charity

The UKSM speedrunning group will be hosting a marathon at the upcoming Insomnia Gaming Festival to raise money for Special Effect. The festival is running from September 7th to September 10th, with runners attempting to complete the games, or a specific objective within the game, as fast as possible. The event can be watched from the UKSM Twitch page.

UKSM is a UK-based speedrunning marathon that has run speedrunning events online and at various in-person gaming events, including Insomnia and EGX. Their events raise money for various UK-based charities. Special Effect is a charity primarily dedicated to allowing physically disabled people across the world to play video games through innovative technology. Their other works include BubbleBusters, home-controlled desktop robots that help tackle long-term medical isolation, and Eye Gaze Games, a series of webgames which can be controlled by moving one's eyes.
